Ruby Youngs "Fried Green Tomatoes"

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
3-4 green tomatoes sliced 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick
salt and pepper to taste
(you can dip in 1 c buttermilk if desired)
1/2" vegetable oil

Slice tomatoes, dip in buttermilk if using then dip in flour,meal,salt and pepper. Heat oil and add breaded tomatoes.
cook til browned, turn and repeat on second side. YUM YUM
